My never-ending quest to find affordable, drinkable whisky. Finding well priced blended whiskies is relatively easy. There are plenty of them around, and some of them are quite good. Whisky and Stilton cheese pairing is something that I see coming past my social media feed regularly, and I decided to try it. So this past weekend, John bought a wedge of Blue Stilton cheese, his favourite cheese, from Checkers, who have a wide variety of unique cheeses.

Last week I about the Top 5 single malt whiskies under R500 available in South Africa. This blog post came about after a friend asked for some help in choosing whisky as a gift. A couple of months ago, I was invited to try some Belgian whisky that will hopefully become available in South Africa over the next year or 2. I have tasted the Belgian Owl Identité whisky before. This 3 yo whisky has won various international prizes and is just lovely. Today I look at the Belgian Owl Evolution single malt whisky.

A couple of months ago, I fell in love with a bourbon filled to the brim with flavours of malva pudding and dark, sweet cherries. The Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon promised and delivered a delectable taste experience. At the same time, I also found the Jim Beam Double Oak bourbon whiskey in the shop and just had to try this as well.
