Whisky Tasting Notes

I have captured whisky tasting notes for over 400 different single malts, blends, Tennessee whiskey and bourbons. Click on the links below to go to a specific category.

Tasting notes for Single Malt whisky

My current favourite single malt open bottle is the GlenDronach 15 year old single malt Scotch.

Tasting notes for Blended Whisky

The current open bottle I am loving right now is the Johnnie Walker Select Casks 10 Year Rye Cask Finish Whisky.

Tasting notes for Bourbon Whiskey

I am sad that I finished my bottle of Uncle Nearest 1856 Whiskey and now need to find something new to try. Not always an easy ask here on the island of Mauritius.

Tasting notes for Blended Malt Whisky

The Johnnie Walker Island Green is a blended malt whisky that blends malts from Caol Ila, Clynelish, Glenkinchie and Cardhu. So a malt from each Scottish region. Islay, Highlands, Lowlands, and Speyside. Caol Ila malts make up most of the blend, hence the reference to Island.

Tasting notes for Grain Whisky

This will always be my dessert island dram, the one bottle I will take if I can’t ever order anything else.  The Bain’s 15 year old whisky is perfection.

Tasting notes for Irish Whiskey

This is a lovely sherry finished Irish blended whiskey that is worth adding to your collection.  The Dunville’s Three Crowns Sherry Finish Irish Whiskey is chewy and rich.

Tasting notes for Rye Whiskey

Well, this bottle did not last very long. I shared this with some friends and they all loved the spicy notes of the Woodford Reserve Rye Whiskey
